Vamo Sønderborg Danish Rosewood Dining Chairs — Set of 8

A set of eight Danish rosewood dining chairs by Vamo Sønderborg, comprising two armchairs and six side chairs. Tall, open backs bring a clear vertical rhythm to the group, balanced by dark upholstered seats and warm wooden frames.

The armchairs provide natural positions at the ends of a dining table, while the six side chairs complete a coordinated setting. The repeated back slats keep the taller silhouettes visually open.

The auction catalog identifies Vamo Sønderborg, and a maker’s mark is shown in the accompanying photographs. A specific designer, model and manufacture date have not been established. All eight chairs are offered together as one set.

Condition

Vintage surface wear and marks are visible in the original photographs. The seat covering’s fiber composition and restoration history are unverified. Please review the original group and detail photographs and contact us for additional condition views.

Style Notes

The taller backs give definition to a dining area, while the rosewood and dark seats pair readily with warm wood tables and neutral textiles. Simple table settings allow the grain and repeated slats to carry the arrangement.
